Osteopathy

Relieve Discomfort, Restore Balance & Renew Your Health

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on the interconnectedness of the body's systems, particularly how the skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems work together to maintain overall health. We use hands-on techniques to assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of conditions, emphasising the body's ability to self-heal.

This form of manual therapy can benefit people of all ages, addressing issues such as pain, tension, and mobility restrictions while promoting wellness and preventative care. By considering the whole person rather than just isolated symptoms, osteopathy aims to enhance overall well-being and improve quality of life. Clients often report feeling much more relaxed after treatment with less pain/muscle tension and better sleep!

  • During pregnancy you may experience aches and pains, swelling, headaches etc, all of which we can help with and support you through. Your ligaments become softer and stretch more which continues up to a year after giving birth, causing some of these aches and pains. Osteopathy aims to relieve pain, help you relax and support you every step of the way, with after care treatments easing the discomfort from birth including c-sections, episiotomy, fatigue, brain fog and that back ache from feeding! Helping you to feel like your body is your own and whole again.

Female health issues can feel like being on a rollercoaster with your health, never knowing what your hormones will have you feeling! The conditions we see amongst patients range from PCOS, endometriosis, blockages and fibroids to dealing with perimenopause and menopause. Osteopathy aims to promote better flow and drainage of fluids, regulate the nervous system and influence the circulatory system which can help you to feel less inflammed, fatigued and stressed.

  • Your first appointment will begin with a consultation and medical history to get a thorough understanding of your overall health and what may be contributing to your symptoms in order to find the root cause. Then we carry out appropriate assessments to form a working diagnosis and create a treatment plan tailored specific to you.

  • We usually need to see the area of concern and advise appropriate clothing such as shorts or sports bras, however, we can work around clothing if you that makes you feel more comfortable!

  • It is completely normal for you to feel some soreness for 24-48 hours, depending on the issue and treatment. Some people may experience soreness longer than this or none at all, as each individual can react to treatments in different ways as your body adapts to the changes we have made.

You will be given stretches or exercises as well as advice on any lifestyle changes, nutrition, stress management and sleep according to your specific needs.
